Alex Mizell
Founder, Lead Beekeeper
Born and raised in Willachoochee Georgia, Alex has always had a strong connection to the agricultural world. He has been involved in the bee industry since secondary school, raising a small volume of hives as a hobbyist. After a small break from beekeeping to pursue his education and a sales driven career in Metro-Atlanta, Alex ultimately made the decision to move back home to South Georgia. After settling in Coffee County, Alex start his own Apiary and Equipment Manufacturing company with his father, using his garage as the business’ base. Creating Mizell Honey allowed him the ability to provide for his agricultural community, while also being abundantly present to his wife and two children.
Alex serves his community as a Firefighter with City of Douglas. While this is a full time commitment, it comes with a convenient schedule of 24 hour shifts, allowing him most weekdays to dedicate to Mizell Honey. As a firefighter, Alex has has the opportunity to dive into his community in ways he never imagined - He is able to impact lives, build a brotherhood with fellow firefighters, and give back to his peers.
In the future, Alex has the goal to become certified in Technical Rescue and Hazmat Tech, in addition to his already gained certifications in Hazmat Awareness and Operations. He has also worked his way up to Engineer, which just means he gets to drive the truck!
